The forested borderlands between Poland, Belarus and Lithuania have become the scene of migration disputes and a resulting humanitarian crisis. We know little of exactly what is happening on the Polish side, how many migrants are being pushed back, how many succeed to enter Poland, how many are claiming asylum in Poland, and how many are hindered from doing so. We know even less of what is happening on the Belarus side. In a recent blog post Research Professor Marta Bivand Erdal discusses the significance of the crisis.
