Migration Rhythms Learning Resources

Report – other

Developed by Lifeworlds in collaboration with PositiveNegatives and PRIO, on the basis of the Migration Rhythms in Trajectories of Upward Social Mobility in Asia research project. (2026) Migration Rhythms Learning Resources.

Learning resources

Using four animations/comics from four different Asian cities, these learning resources support learners and educators to explore a different, but vital aspect of global migration - that of the growing global middle classes.

We explore what it means to be middle class, why it might be important and how this might be connected to population mobility.

We also focus on social mobility as a distinct from spatial mobility. Finally the activities bring the learning from these four cities back to learners for them to consider their own setting, circumstances and futures.

The Learning and engagement resources include:

  • Activity guide
  • PowerPoint slides
  • Activity sheets
  • 'In the frame: Asia' brief
  • City briefs on Hanoi, Karachi, Manila and Mumbai
